If 2025 taught us anything, it’s that fashion has a way of defining how we experience a year. The runways were expressive, the red carpets were major, and the viral moments—well, they took on lives of their own.

As it happens, 2025 was a big year for the industry, seeing a major reset within the luxury houses, with creative director switch ups happening left and right. The result? A truly refreshing Spring/Summer 2026 season to look forward to.

And of course, there were the pop cultural fashion moments that informed how we shopped, the way we styled ourselves, and of course, shifted the zeitgeist.

Let’s look back at the fashion moments that shaped the year.

Kendrick Lamar Performing at The Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show

Who knew it would be a Super Bowl performance that would single-handedly bring back the boot leg jean? Kendrick Lamar wore a pair of Celine bootcut denim for his history-making show, and promptly sold the style out.

Matthieu Blazy's first collection at Chanel marked a tectonic shift in the world of fashion, one which had been grumbling since his appointment was announced. The new silhouettes referenced the past, but shown under a galaxy at the Grand Palais, reached toward the future.

Pierpaolo Piccioli's Beginning at Balenciaga

For his first collection at Balenciaga, Pierpaolo Piccioli re-envisioned the archives by creating a masterful fusion of his signature romanticism and the house’s sharp, modernist edge, where elegant silhouettes were juxtaposed with exaggerated details, establishing a new era of couture-meets-conceptual fashion.

Michael Rider's Preppy Revival at Celine

The start of Michael Rider’s tenure at Celine has signaled a refined new direction for the house. The jeans, button downs, and Western-style belts balanced precise tailoring with modern cheekiness that felt both assured, forward-looking and dare we say, inherently preppy?

Dior by Jonathan Anderson

Jonathan Anderson's appointment to be the Creative Director at Dior was one of the biggest fashion news moments of the year and we could hardly contain our anticipation. The Spring/Summer 2026 collection, true to Anderson's reputation, took house codes and turned them on their heads, reinventing Dior classics, from the Bar jacket to the Lady Dior bag. And who could resist those Dior bunny shoes?

Amanda Seyfried and Julia Roberts at The 2025 Venice Film Festival

In a world where a red carpet image can do the heavy lifting for a major film—and star's—press tour, Amanda Seyfried's choice to repeat the same Versace look worn by Julia Roberts a few days prior broke out of the mold. Re-wears and vintage will only grow in popularity as we move into 2026.

Labubu Craze

If 2024 was the year of the bag charm revival, 2025 was the year of the Labubu. Love 'em or hate 'em, we would be remiss to skip over the Labubu (and the all out competitive fervor they spurred) as the accessory of the year.

The Marty Supreme press tour rounded out the year in style, with Timothée Chalamet (and his co-stars) pulling all eyes towards them with bright orange looks in a shade that has been dubbed Marty Supreme Orange. This begs the question: Is branding a shade the final evolution of method dressing?
