Tell Me Lies season 3 continues to follow Lucy and Stephen's messy, toxic relationship.

The first two episodes of season 3 premiere on Jan. 13, 2026.

Get ready, because Tell Me Lies is back and more dramatic than ever.

Based on the bestseller by Carola Loverling, the Hulu drama follows Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White), whose relationship has been spiraling out of control since they first met at Baird College in 2007. Jumping between the toxic intensity of their college years and the fractured aftermath of 2015, the show explores their passionate highs and destructive lows that affect not just them, but everyone in their circle.

Since the season 2 finale of Tell Me Lies in October 2024, Hulu has renewed its hit series for a third season. Here's everything to know about Tell Me Lies season 3, including details on the new cast members and when it returns to your screens.

Tell Me Lies season 3 jumps back into Lucy and Stephen's college years as they reconcile for spring semester at Baird.

The official synopsis teases that "while they promise things will be different this time, past indiscretions hinder their best intentions, and Lucy finds herself embroiled in a controversy with which she wants nothing to do."

"Meanwhile, the disastrous repercussions from the previous year also force Lucy and Stephen's friends to face their own destructive behaviors," the synopsis continues. "As scandalous secrets fester around campus, vicious consequences threaten Lucy and everyone in her circle."

In November 2025, Van Patten told PEOPLE that season 3 will be packed with drama. "I'm scared for the audience. Everything's coming to a head, and everything's getting more and more tangled and intertwined."

She added that the season reaches a "point of no return," with many of the characters finally facing real consequences. "I'm so curious to hear what people think — and I'm obsessed with the ending," she said. "I'm really excited for the reactions to that."

Is there a Tell Me Lies season 3 trailer?

On Wednesday, Dec. 17, Hulu released the official trailer for Tell Me Lies season 3, and things are messier than ever.

It opens with Lucy in tears, making some sort of apology video. "I need to apologize to everyone, so I am making this tape to say that I am so sorry," she says.

Lucy and Stephen are back together, but trust is shaky between them, especially now that Stephen knows about Lucy's drunken hookup with Evan (Branden Cook). The fallout from that secret is taking over everyone's lives, and Lucy is afraid of what Stephen might do.

"Why are you doing this?" she asks, and he admits, "Because I wanna hurt you, and I don't know how else to do it."

Meanwhile, Bree (Catherine Missal) is trying to bounce back from last season's heartbreak with Oliver (Tom Ellis), and Wrigley (Spencer House) and Pippa (Sonia Mena) find their way back to each other after his brother Drew's (Benjamin Wadsworth) death.

New faces join the drama too: Alex (Costa D'Angelo) calls out Lucy for her supposed fear of Stephen, and Iris Apatow's character catches Oliver's eye.
