One Piece season 2 is almost here!

The Netflix live-action adaptation of the popular Japanese manga series is coming back to the streamer for another chapter — and there's plenty to catch up on.

While the beloved One Piece anime kicked things off back in 1999, its live-action counterpart premiered on Netflix in August 2023, following the tales of Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero) and Sanji (Taz Skylar) as Luffy leaves his small village to embark on a quest for the mythical treasure of "One Piece."

Season 1's finale wrapped with Luffy's grandfather Monkey D. Garp (Vincent Regan) facing off against Luffy before letting the Straw Hat Pirates go on their way.

One Piece’s creator Eiichiro Oda has previously said the live-action series was a seven-years-in-the-making project, and now, the second installment will offer “fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet" for the crew.

Here's everything to know about One Piece season 2.

One Piece season 2 will kick off with Luffy and the Straw Hats making their way to Grand Line, the "legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn," per a synopsis from Netflix.

"As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies," it continued.

Matt Owens, co-showrunner, told Netflix's Tudum that the next season will also feature Dr. Kureha, the elderly doctor who works on Drum Island (Katey Sagal), with Tony Tony Chopper also making a debut.

“When the Season 2 writers’ room got together, we knew how far we were going to get and that this character Dr. Kureha was going to be a big part of the season," Owens said in October 2023.

Oda has also confirmed that the season 2 “story will cover Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Capes), Whiskey Peak, Little Island, and Drum Island.”

Is there a trailer for One Piece season 2?

Netflix released the full trailer for One Piece season 2 in February 2026, weeks before the new episodes were set to drop.

Before the longer trailer arrived, the streamer shared a "sneak peek" and "first look" at what the story has to offer for season 2.

Netflix unleashed a first look for the series back in August 2025, featuring Luffy and crew setting sail as they encounter a cast of characters, while Luffy shows off his Gum Gum Gatling and the Straw Hats' ship nearly collides with a massive beast. The teaser concludes with a promise to fans that season 3 is on the way as well.

One Piece's sneak peek teaser also features Godoy confirming that the story is about to get "bigger and better" in the next chapter.

"Now in season 2, they are ready to go into the Grand Line to search for the ultimate treasure, the One Piece," he said.

Mackenyu called the season "more intense," while Rudd confirmed that the Straw Hats will be "relying on each other fully" this time around. "It'll show what the Straw Hat crew really can do," Mackenyu added.
