Brady Edmunds opened the 2026 high school football season in record-breaking style.
Edmunds led Huntington Beach (Calif.) to a 42-14 road win over Millikan (Calif.) behind a 446-yard performance, which marked a new single-game school record, to go along with and six touchdowns in the victory on Thursday, Aug. 20.
The four-star 2027 recruit finished the night completing 25 of 32 attempts, while also adding 30 rushing yards in the performance. The lone blemish of the night for the Ohio State commit was an interception, but that did not take away from the record-breaking performance.

The 25 completions were a career-high for the 6-foot-5, 235-pounder. The six touchdown passes brought his career total to 98 across 37 career games as a four-year starter for the Oilers. He also surpassed 9,000 passing yards for his career.
Edmund's favorite target was three-star recruit Dylin Bruce, who recorded 10 receptions for 225 yards and three touchdowns.
Edmunds has been committed to Ohio State since Dec. 2, 2024. As a junior, he led Huntington Beach to an 8-3 record while throwing for 2,724 yards, 32 touchdowns to just two interceptions.
