Leonardo DiCaprio didn't need a win to become one of the most talked-about stars at the 2026 Golden Globes.

Thanks to the power of candid camera, the *Once Battle After Another* star, 51, captured viewers' hearts without ever leaving his seat. The usually very composed DiCaprio is going viral for getting playful during one of the show's commercial breaks, as he was captured laughing, smiling, and doing a very hammy impression of a person who was off camera.

"Something has activated Leonardo DiCaprio during this commercial break," *The New York Times*’ Kyle Buchanan wrote via X, sharing a clip of DiCaprio’s silly moment midway through the show.

The footage sees DiCaprio animatedly chatting with another attendee — who internet sleuths suspect is his onscreen daughter Chase Infiniti — moments after *KPop Demon Hunters* won two awards, for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for "Golden."

It's not totally clear what DiCaprio is saying — though plenty of amateur lip readers have attempted to crack the case — but he definitely utters the word "KPop." The clip sees DiCaprio point in the direction of another guest before indicating that he was watching them by raising his finger to his eyes. He then does a joking impersonation, mimicking them by pouting and flicking his hair. The actor is still laughing and in good spirits when someone asking for his autograph captures his attention and he turns to sign his name.

The Golden Globes TikTok account posted the full clip, with the caption: “Enjoy 30 seconds of Leonardo DiCaprio.”

Earlier in the evening, DiCaprio was a good sport while getting roasted by Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser during her opening monologue.

"Leonardo DiCaprio is here for one man bun after another!" she joked from the stage at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. "What a career you've had. Countless iconic performances, worked with every great director, won three Golden Globes, an Oscar. And the most impressive thing is you were able to accomplish all that before your girlfriend turned 30."

The audience reacted with a mix of laughter and shock as DiCaprio nodded through the punchline. Glaser then apologized for her brazenness, telling the star, "I'm sorry I made that joke, it's cheap! I mean, I tried not to — we just don't know anything else about you, man. There's nothing else! Like, open up!"

She then referenced a 1991 *Teen Beat* magazine interview with the actor, quipping, "Is your favorite food still 'pasta, pasta, and more pasta'?"

DiCaprio took it all in stride, just as he did when he missed out on the Best Actor — Musical or Comedy prize to Timothée Chalamet, who won for his role in *Marty Supreme*. There were clearly no hard feelings: Chalamet and DiCaprio were photographed embracing and chatting during another break in the ceremony.
