After a challenging 2024 due to her abdominal surgery and subsequent cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, Kate Middleton was back to work—for the most part—this year.

In February, the Sunday Times reported that the Princess of Wales wanted the focus to be on her work and not her wardrobe, and that Kensington Palace would no longer be releasing details of her outfits. Soon after, however the Palace clarified that it wasn’t Kate’s intent, but a message from the spokesperson. “Over the last week, I have received numerous questions about a story regarding The Princess of Wales’s clothing and how Kensington Palace shares information about her outfits,” a spokesperson said. “To be clear, there has been no change in our approach to sharing information about Her Royal Highness’s clothing.” For the most part, however, the Palace has continued to share details on Kate’s clothing.

The past year brought many high fashion moments from the Princess of Wales, including three State Banquets. In December, the Princess also debuted a new-to-her tiara, the Oriental Circlet Tiara—which was commissioned for Queen Victoria and a favorite of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. It also saw more casual appearances, and plenty of repeats from previous years. In chronological order, here are Kate’s top 20 outfits of the past year:

Kate kicked off 2025 with the news she was in remission, and visited the hospital where she received treatment last year. “As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead,” she wrote in a message.

While her fashion was not the focus of the appearance, she showed up in a classic Kate outfit: a tartan Blaze Milano coat, a Kiltane cashmere turtleneck, and an Edeline Lee midi skirt.

She even kept her jewelry the same on both outings, choosing vintage pearl cluster earrings and a pearl necklace from Susan Caplan.
