TikTok creator Jools Lebron, who went viral in August 2024 for popularizing the catchphrases “very mindful” and “very demure,” is now calling out singer, songwriter, and makeup artist Jeffree Star for mocking her over her GoFundMe, which asked for $45,000 for dental surgery.
Lebron claimed Star never got the “public recognition” he wanted because he is a “racist” and was seemingly jealous of her. Towards the end of the 3-minute clip, the TikToker said:
“Yeah, I might have come on the internet and begged to get my teeth fixed… But you wouldn't have been able to do that if it wasn't for the likes of people like me who bought those crunchy a** lipsticks 10 years ago. Your problem is with the system. You thought that because you did so much that you were going to get it all, and you didn't. You never got the public recognition you wanted because you're racist.”
Jools Lebron, who goes by @joolieannie on TikTok, continued:
“So yeah, it does bother you when a black and Puerto Rican girl from the f**king hood who probably gets all the trade that you're having to pay for is getting all the flowers from everyone and you're going to try to drag me at my lowest moment over a f**king dental surgery? You got a full face of f**king implants, you b*tch, and you’re still not getting acknowledged…”
Here’s what Jeffree Star said to get such a response from Jools Lebron. Taking to his Instagram Live, the MUA sarcastically observed while sitting at a dental clinic:
“Today we're at the dentist. I'm paying for my own teeth cleaning. It's very demure, very mindful. I'm not like the other girls. I don't expect my entire audience of blue-collar 9-to-5 workers to pay for my $45,000 smile. I'm very cutesy. I'm very respectful. I'm not like the other girls. I don't fake heart attacks at the airport, and then I'm filming the whole thing. Like, wait, how is that possible?”
Jeffree Star has yet to respond to Jools Lebron.
Exploring Jools Lebron’s GoFundMe for dental surgery and the subsequent controversy
Earlier this month, Jools Lebron launched a GoFundMe titled “Jools Needs Dental Surgery to End Pain,” citing that her history of substance abuse is rotting her teeth. She further explained in a TikTok video:
“About four or five months ago I had a deal with a dentist, and he was going to take out all my teeth and give me a brand-new set of teeth because through addiction my teeth are severely destroyed.”
Lebron continued:
“Every time I go to the dentist, it’s made clear to me I’m fighting an uphill battle. I’ve already spent $6,000 on this. I don’t know what else to do. I don’t want to ask my community for help, but I feel like I have no other choice at this point. I would love to go get a regular job…but even then, I don’t think that’s going to help my situation.”
The fundraiser, which was soon deleted, sparked a controversy with many asking Jools to get out into the real world and get a job instead of exploiting her 2 million followers. Meanwhile, others came to her defence, stating that straight people with normal jobs often don’t have dental insurance. So, expecting that a trans woman of color like LeBron would have it is probably far-fetched.
In the wake of the controversy, the 33-year-old online personality went on TikTok and posted a video claiming she collapsed at the airport. Later, she clarified on her Instagram Story that it happened due to “stress and chest pain.”
Jools Lebron also said she was considering stepping away from social media:

“I think I have to officially let TikTok go. I think that I am fooling myself that this algorithm will ever favor me… If I ever think that I will make back the momentum that I had during Very Demure and I think that I’m fooling myself if I think that being an influencer and chasing this dream is healthy…”
@joolieannie added:
“For me, in my mind, I’m clearly having some kind of mental break and I’m clearly not in a good space and I’m clearly not doing well and I think that when I think about it more and more it all just steps back to me trying to chase the same fame and recognition and momentum that Very Demure had and I have to move; it’s time.”
It is noteworthy that Jools Lebron previously told Tamron Hall that she was earning $45,000 to $80,000 offers for videos following her 2024 virality. She also mentioned spending her money on helping out her family members.
Additionally, in a March TikTok post, she noted:
“Going viral let me fall down a slope of insobriety that ruined my life.”
Jools went on to explain that while she was able to achieve financial stability and personal milestones, like affording gender-affirming procedures, her online success also got her hooked back on drugs and alcohol. While she has tried to get her life back and achieve sobriety, it is still a long way to go.
Elsewhere in her recent rant about Jeffree Star, Jools Lebron said that the makeup artist’s problem isn’t with her but Patrick Starr and also with “how the system works” against him.
The TikToker continued to claim that she got to know about all the “behind-the-scenes tea” from back in the day, including Jeffree's “racist” and drinking spree, but she never leaked them despite knowing the MUA was telling “damn lies” to her followers.
“When I started blowing up, it was with the same people you had to blow your a** up to get closer to and all it took was two or three videos… I became friends with people you had to work so hard to be friends with in a matter of months, in what took you years and that bothers you,” Jools claimed.
She claimed Jeffree Star tried to “steal” all of Patrick Starr’s friends and when it didn’t work, he tried to “vocalize a failing cosmetics company.” Today, when Jools Lebron is trying to make a name for herself, the makeup artist is allegedly doing the same to her as he is no longer “viral.” The TikTok influencer said that Jeffree would “look crazy” if he continued to come for Patrick, so, instead, he now comes for her.
Jools Lebron claimed:
“And guess what, Jeffree? You might be white and able-bodied and thin-bodied. But let's make it clear. I've accomplished things in my career that you've never accomplished. Beyonce will never shout you out. The likes of celebrities of Lindsay Lohan, Jennifer Lopez, Jamie Lee Curtis, the president and the vice president will never acknowledge you because you're not that girl. Even with millions of dollars in the bank account, you're not that girl. Even with all the property under your belt, you're not that girl.”
Jools Lebron ended her video claiming Jeffree has “horse teeth” but still doesn’t get recognized, adding that her own teeth were “still getting done,” and there was nothing Star could do about it.
Over the decades, Jeffree Star has found herself at the center of several controversies and has even apologized for her frequent “racist” remarks.
