Eric Dane's daughter is set to make her acting debut with her mom by her side.
Georgia Dane, the 14-year-old daughter of the late "Grey's Anatomy" actor, will star opposite her mother Rebecca Gayheart in the new Lifetime movie "The Ocean Between Them," the network has announced.
Inspired by a true story, the film stars Gayheart as a "devoted mother whose world is upended when her daughter Miranda disappears at sea during a vacation in Belize." Dane will play Ashley, Joan's younger daughter.
Eric Dane died in February at age 53 after a battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. He announced that he had been diagnosed with the nervous system disease in April 2025. Dane, best known for his role of Mark Sloan on "Grey's Anatomy," continued to act up until his death, including in the third season of "Euphoria." He also became an advocate for people with the disease, also known as ALS.
Dane was married to Gayheart from 2004 until their 2018 separation. They welcomed two daughters: Georgia, 14, and Billie, 16. Gayheart filed for divorce from Dane in 2018, but later filed to dismiss the case. "We are really close. We are great co-parents," Gayheart told E! News in 2025. "We really figured out the formula to staying a family and I think our kids are benefiting greatly from it, and we are as well."

"The Ocean Between Them" will mark Georgia Dane's first movie. She graduated middle school in June, which Gayheart celebrated in an Instagram post as she shared a photo from the ceremony.

"You have graduated middle school and survived an incredibly difficult year," she wrote. "I am so beyond proud of you — your tenacity, grit and grace has been on full display. Welcome to high school – I have no doubt you're ready."
Before his death, Eric Dane recorded an interview for the Netflix series "Famous Last Words," which features conversations with high-profile figures that will only be released posthumously. In the interview, Dane delivered a message to his two daughters.
"Live now, right now, in the present," Dane said. "It's hard, but I learned to do that. For years, I would wander off mentally, lost in my head for long chunks of time, wallowing in worry and self-pity, shame and doubt. I replayed decisions, second-guessed myself. No more. Out of pure survival, I am forced to stay in the present, but I don't want to be anywhere else. The past contains regrets. The future remains unknown. So you have to live now. The present is all you have. Treasure it. Cherish every moment."
"The Ocean Between Them" airs on Lifetime on Sept. 26. Jessica Lord and Karl Walcott also star.
