Chiefs player Creed Humphrey tells PEOPLE his teammates Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce bring "great vibes" to the locker room

Humphrey describes the "awesome" NFL stars are "good human beings" while discussing his partnership with Dairy Queen

"You can tell they love what they do, and that's infectious throughout the locker room," Humphrey says of Mahomes and Kelce

Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Creed Humphrey is praising his teammates Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

Though the Chiefs are out of the playoffs for the first time in 10 seasons, Humphrey, 26, tells PEOPLE his superstar teammates bring "great vibes" to Kansas City's locker room.

"They're awesome. As good of football players as they are, they're just as good human beings," says Humphrey while promoting his partnership with Dairy Queen.

"Being able to be around them and become close with them, it's been awesome," he adds.

Mahomes, 30, and Kelce, 36, "are always bringing great energy" and "great vibes throughout the day" to the team.

"You can tell they love what they do, and that's infectious throughout the locker room, so it's awesome to be around."

And when Kelce announced his engagement to Taylor Swift during a Chiefs training camp practice back in August, Humphrey says their Chiefs teammates were all excited for him. "Big congrats to him, that's awesome," says Kelce's teammate.

Humphrey also speaks highly of head coach Andy Reid, who he calls "one of the best, if not the best to ever do it."

"[Coach Reid] is an offensive lineman himself, so he understands it and shows a lot of love to the big guys," says Humphrey. "It's a lot of fun just being around him and seeing the plays he's cooking up and all the crazy things we do out there."

Humphrey is also close with the rest of the Chiefs' offensive line, and he enlisted some of the guys for his partnership with Dairy Queen.

Humphrey's teammates joined him at his home in Kansas City to work on their touchdown celebrations, and Humphrey says hanging with the guys, especially when Dairy Queen chicken strips are involved, is his favorite way to spend a day off.

"We had a lot of fun," Humphrey says of shooting the spot. "It was a blast. You know, it's a bunch of big guys hanging around, doing a shoot and eating a lot of food."

Offensive tackle Kingsley Suamataia "put away at least 30 chicken strips that day on the shoot," says Humphrey.

The spot was also Kelce-approved, as the tight end commented on the Instagram post writing,"Dancin for DQ?!? I’m in on that!!!"
