Michael Bublé has strong ties to his Canadian roots.
After the United States hockey team beat Canada in a thrilling overtime game for the Winter Olympics on Sunday, Feb. 22, the Canadian crooner shared some kind words for both teams in a video posted on Instagram.
"First off, I would like to congratulate Team Canada, all the members, coaches, players who worked so hard and made us so proud," Bublé, 50, said in the video wearing a Team Canada jersey.
"Well, obviously, we were all, you know, disappointed. We hoped for the gold. We'd also like to congratulate Team USA and our brothers and sisters across the border," he continued. "We love each other. We're family."
The "Home" singer said that the win was "very good for the game" and he was "proud of the whole thing."
"Even though it hurts me to say congratulations USA," he said, as his kids repeated it in the background. "Okay. Now we've got a rivalry. A great rivalry and next time it's ours."

"Ouch. That hurt," he concluded.
Bublé captioned the post, "Canada's got the next one."
The victory on Feb. 22 marked the first time the U.S. men's hockey team won gold since the 1980 Miracle on Ice. They defeated their northern neighbors 2-1, exactly 46 years after the U.S. last became champions.
Team USA star Jack Hughes had the golden goal for the U.S. with the overtime winner — and he threw up his arms in celebration as the rest of the U.S. flew off the benches to join him on the ice.

"I'm just proud, obviously," his brother and teammate Quinn Hughes told Eurosport moments after the win. "He's gone through a lot with two shoulder surgeries and he just loves the game more than anyone and all he wants to do is be healthy and play. And I think in this tournament he showed he's one of the best players in the world, clearly."
Meanwhile, Bublé is a longtime fan of the sport — and he's scheduled to serve as a celebrity coach for the 2026 WHL Prospects Game.
