Bubly Unveils New Flavors in Color-Changing Cans Inspired by “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie”

Bubly is getting in on the fandom surrounding the excitement for the upcoming release of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

On Monday, Feb. 23, the sparkling water brand unveiled a new line of limited-edition flavors, character-themed packs and a chance to win a free trip to NASA among other prizes.

"Super Mario is one of the most timeless and beloved franchises in entertainment, inspiring a sense of adventure and exploration for fans of every generation," Michael Smith, VP of Marketing for bubly, said in a statement, adding, that "we’re thrilled to bring the magic of this universe into the grocery aisle and be part of fans’ excitement leading up to the film."

Among the new flavors inspired by the animated movie from Illumination and Nintendo are Meteor Melon, which bubly describes as "an other-worldly watermelon lime;" Cosmic Swirl, which is made up of "a galactic mix of vanilla and berry;" and Dragonfruit Stardust, "an enchanted mix of pineapple dragonfruit." All three flavors will also come in color-changing cans adorned with Lumas that will change appearance when chilled.

Those who like bubly's existing flavors — Lime, Blackberry, Cherry, Grapefruit and Strawberry — can snag the character-themed packs featuring Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Princess Peach, Toad, and Bowser Jr.

Not to be outdone by her celestial companions and the other famed Nintendo characters, Rosalina will also appear on 50 specialty Galaxy cans hidden inside the themed packs. As part of the brand's Galactic Mission, any consumer who comes across one will win what bubly dubs as "the ultimate Galaxy Getaway Grand Prize," which is an all-expenses paid trip for two to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Merritt, Fla.

Other prizes include complimentary movie tickets and merchandise for fans who redeem Star Bits before May 8, while those who see the movie at Regal and Marcus Theatres before April 16 also have a chance to win the getaway by entering through on-site promotions.
