Yerin Ha revealed she developed folliculitis after using baby powder while filming a bathtub sex scene for Bridgerton season 4

The actress and costar Luke Thompson spent six to seven hours submerged in water while shooting the scene

Ha said she got "hives all over" her body and needed a steroid cream

Yerin Ha is making an awkward confession about Sophie and Benedict's steamy bathtub hookup in Bridgerton season 4.

During a Feb. 25 appearance on Capital Breakfast alongside costar Luke Thompson, the actress, 28, told hosts Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby that she developed an uncomfortable skin condition while filming the sex scene.

“There’s a scene where we are in a bathtub and basically I put baby powder all on me because I was told it would help dry my skin to put the intimacy wear on with my tape,” she explained. “And then basically the next day after the bathtub, I got hives all over my body and got folliculitis and needed steroid cream!”

“But I blame myself,” she admitted, “because I think it was a combination of baby powder and the bath water.”

Folliculitis is a common skin condition that’s typically caused by an infected or inflamed hair follicle, creating uncomfortable or itchy bumps on the surface of the skin.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, there are a number of factors that can increase the risk of developing folliculitis, including doing activities that make you sweat a lot and not fully cleaning off afterwards or spending time in a hot tub or sauna that isn’t properly cleaned.

Thompson, 37, noted that the pair were submerged in the bathtub for six or seven hours while filming the scene.

“But you were fine!” Ha said with a laugh. “So it’s me. I’m a sensitive gal.”

This wasn’t the only mishap while filming the intimate scenes in Bridgerton.

In January, Ha spoke to PEOPLE and revealed that she and Thompson were originally supposed to film their staircase hookup earlier on in production, but it had to be moved after she got sick on set.

"That scene was supposed to be shot a while back, but then I got the flu, so we had to reschedule it," she said.

"But you know what? It's funny, because those Bridgerton steamy, sex scenes — or whatever you want to call them — they don't feel like they're there just for the sake of it," she continued. "They're actually an extension of the storytelling, and it is quite poetic and they're there for an actual purpose. I do think Bridgerton does the sex scene so well ... from a female gaze."
