One of the perks of raising a child is showing them movies or music you enjoyed for the first time. Actors experience this joy with their children, too. Ben Affleck shares with children with ex-wife,Jennifer Garner. Violet, 20, Fin, 17, or Samuel, 13, which means they're watching classic movies with their dad with more mature themes.

Ben Affleck Appreciates 'Taxi Driver' More With His Samuel

Affleck and Matt Damon's love of film and collaborating continues 29 years after Good Will Hunting. But do their kids share their passion? "Recently my son, 13, decided he wants to like watch movies," Affleck said on the podcast, "Joe Rogan Experience." Samuel was previously more interested in TikTok than full-length films. The father happily gave him a list of movies to watch, including Martin Scorsese's movies. The Oscar winner said watching the classic films now is a different experience. Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver is a driver who becomes more violent the longer he works at night in the city.

"I realized how much better they were that I couldn't even appreciate when I was younger," Affleck admitted. After all, he has made at least 83 movies throughout his filmmaking career. "Just the most beautiful f--king experience to watch my son take an interest in it." The Rip costar said his older two aren't interested in tagging along for movie premieres or going to set. Affleck was then thrilled about Samuel's new journey into movies.

"This doesn't get better," the father claimed. "This is the happiest I may ever be in my whole life, right here watching this movie." His kids might not be interested in filmmaking, but one is in the spotlight for a different reason. Violet had a speech at the United Nations in 2025 about the value of stronger mask mandates. She is attending Yale University and is passionate about the environment and public health. So there are different paths for the Affleck children. But he seemed thrilled to have any chance to share his love of film with them.
